if you guys haven't noticed, most websites nowadays ask you to login to ur email address.

I hate how they can track whatever you do now with you email address. that's why i dont sign in when using Google Chrome.

I wish there was a way to - at least - disable youtube history. I haven't even created a channel, yet I still get the history feature.
Juggling between different accounts is a practice I see myself failing at after a while.

I don't have multiple account so I think it is convenient that you can just log in one site and you automatically log on with their partner site. I can see your point in separating them. Perhap they will make a plug-in or widget for stuff like that. Like the gmail notifier. I have multiple gmail account so it really help but most of the time I used my main one for business and friends.

The best way to break the Youtube & Gmail account link is...by deleting either your YT account or your Gmail account. That way its permanently broken but if you delete your gmail account and you want to make another gmail account you won't be able to use the same username that you used for your last account.... use a differ one.

I am glad I had a prior youtube account. Not only does google want access to all your personal information, they then turn around and share/sell it. Have you seen the recent "schmoogle" commercials referencing this?

I know I'm late in this. But according to the link below, you can only unlink your accounts if you had a YouTube account before 2009! If you joined after, then you are out of luck. Sorry

speaking of youtube and google -- does anyone know why i might keep getting "restricted" error messages on youtube??? It keeps saying that i am under 18 so certain videos are restricted...but I'm almost 30 years old!! I cannot figure out how to fix this!!

Scroll down to the bottom of YouTube (any page should do). Click on SAFETY. Make sure it is OFF. Make sure you click SAVE.
