Lighthouse Interactives acclaimed Sword of the Stars series has its newest expansion, A Murder of Crows going gold today. Including the Morrigi(the sixth new race in Sword of the Stars) there are new ship classes and weapons the expansion expands(pun!) the universe of the 4X Sword of the Stars game. Haarlem, The Netherlands – September 24, 2008 – Today leading video game Publisher Lighthouse Interactive and accomplished developer Kerberos Productions, announced that A Murder of Crows, the latest expansion to their highly acclaimed 4X space strategy game Sword of the Stars (PC) franchise, has gone gold. In addition to the debut of the Morrigi (the sixth new race in the Sword of the Stars universe) new ships, sections, and weapons are available for the Human, Zuul, Hiver, Liir, and Tarkas races, which brings a competitive and fresh style of gameplay to the series. A Murder of Crows will begin hitting store shelves across the United Kingdom on October 10, 2008 and is currently available for pre-order at GamersGate.com. Players are required to have either Sword of the Stars: Collector’s Edition or Born of Blood to join in the action.

An expansion to the critically acclaimed 4X space strategy game series Sword of the Stars, The Argos Naval Yard provides players with three new scenarios and a variety of new technologies to explore and exploit the galaxy. 19 new technologies are available, including advanced drones, over thrusters, two new satellite designs, defensive interceptor micro-missiles, and polarized plasmatics which will unlock a new weapon type. Sword of the Stars: Born of Blood - - TTNDteam

Last year’s Sword of the Stars presented a deep and intriguing turn-based strategy game in a space setting. The game catered to the hardcore space simulator set, and provided an engaging experience for fans of the genre. Now, the first expansion pack, Sword of the Stars: Born of Blood, is releasing and giving fans reason to get back into the fray. The expansion adds some great new features, including a brand new race for players to take on. However, the game is still very difficult and complex, meaning that people who didn’t like the original much won’t be won over by the expansion. Regardless, there’s a lot to love here if you’re a fan.

The biggest new addition to Born of Blood is the Zuul race. No, not the dog creature from Ghostbusters. The Zuul are nasty, overtly evil, and pack one helluva punch. Their spacecrafts are capable of taking in a lot of damage, and they can even steal ships and technology from their enemies, or even enslave their populations. Unfortunately, the downside is that they consume resources like they’re going out of style, and constantly have to suck planets dry in order to sustain themselves. The Zuul have a very unique dynamic to them, and change the game quite a bit.

It also features a more simplified colony development model that replaces buildings with infrastructure, which utilizes the planet's resource base to provide production points that can be utilized for infrastructure development, terraforming, producing space vessels, and production of trade goods capitalized for money.
