Sports Derek Rose His Own Report on His Injury

Derek Rose hasn’t spoken to any media outlet since going down with a torn left ACL in Game One of the Bulls first round series against the Philadelphia 76ers, but he took to his Facebook page on Friday to update his fans and supporters on his progress and thanked them for their support.

Rose posted a 45-second video with the message "Checking in with you all....Working hard in rehab to get back to full strength. Thanks for all your posts and the continued support, it means a lot to me and is appreciated."

Rose is expected to be out eight to 12 months, but reports from his brother Reggie and Bulls team physician – also the surgeon who repaired Rose’s ACL—say that the point guard is ahead of schedule and already walking without a brace.

When Rose rejoins the team, it will have a slightly different makeup with Kyle Korver being traded to the Atlanta Hawks, C.J. Watson signing with the Brooklyn Nets, John Lucas III signing with the Toronto Raptors, former Bull Kirk Hinrich being back, the possibility of Omer Asik being the Houston Rockets new starting center and a new rookie point guard to help tutor in Marquis Teague, who the Bulls selected with the 29th pick in last month’s draft.
