How does a yahoo booter work? Read on.

I've written an article before on how booters work but still i see time and time again confusion, even most of the programmers who write booters don't even understand why their booters work so i'm going to try and explain it.

Best way to imagine a booter is just a pipe with a pump on the end which pumps the water down the pipe to yahoo.

the client has a pipe which gets the water from yahoo (which was sent by the booter / other people) .

How to boot someone? Send more water to the person than the person can get out, once the water gets full it over spills and the person is booted, now at yahoo's end when you send an instant message to a user yahoo takes that packet then delivers it to the client now if that client is busy, instead of throwing away that packet yahoo stores it in a buffer (buffer is like a swimming pool, you can fill it but not too much or it will overflow) now as you keep sending on packets unless the client is awake and able to get them the data will get stored in the buffer and it will keep getting stored in the buffer until the buffer is reached when this happens yahoo assumes the ID is no longer active so yahoo disconnect the ID.

If the client happens to be using a good connection nice and fast and is able to take from the buffer faster than the person can upload it to fill the buffer the client will not be booted, it takes roughly 130k of data to fill that buffer so if a person can only upload at 10k/s but the person being attack can download at 20k/s that person will not be booted.

now, sbooter on the other hand fills that buffer and then with a single command sends it all instantly so even if the other person has the fastest connection on the planet that buffer will be filled instantly causing them to be booted / disconnected.

Without trying to take away from your explanation, let me just say this.

What you said is true in the case of your booter which uses the buffer charge. However, different packets do different things. For instance, if you send a user that has a low amount of ram a bunch of packets that overloads that ram(in simpler terms, boxes), the low ram will cause yahoo messenger to error out. This is just one of the many other types of ways to cause a boot.

Personally, I use 2 different types of exploits that are different than CJ's. One is a captcha exploit, and the other is a sessionkey exploit. For reasons some of you will understand, I will not tell you exactly how they work, but it in no way deals with the buffer charge.

There are many types of techniques that cause a boot, not just a buffer charge. Don't believe me? Open a booter that uses a buffer charge and open one that doesnt. Use a pm bomb. Now, if you are on a computer that has say at least a gig of ram, when you use a pm bomb, odds are you're not gonna get booted, unless of course you are on dial up. Now, use that same pm bomb on a computer with 256k-512k of ram. Guess what? I bet you get booted easier. Hmm. Not all booters work the exact same way. That is what you need to know the most. A buffer charge exploit, a sessionkey exploit, a captcha exploit, and a plugin exploit all work differently to create the same result, which is the victim being booted. In the case of the buffer charge exploit, it is very good to use and very effective to disconnect the victim, the only down side being how short the boot is and how easily it is reconnected. This is why I put an emphasis on my packets that open boxes on the victims end. I want the boot to last a while for the victim. I want them to have to use task manager to close messenger or the client theyre on. I want them to freeze up and lag. The "popcorn" boot is way more effective to me than the 2 second disconnect, especially with those that use yahelite. Nothing is better than disabling the auto resume function and the buffer charge just can't do it.

Everyone, each programmer has different techniques. CJ's technique is excellent and I believe mine are excellent, and others are excellent. But there is more than one thing that causes a victim to be booted. I just gave the easiest example. If you have questions, feel free to ask. Wanna know what a lag does? Want to know what a smiley bomb does? Maybe you are curious as to why victim a can be smacked with a buzz bomb and victim b cant. Look above. That is why.....a computers performance(and not to mention how much the victim knows combined with internet speed) is the main part of a boots effectiveness. Sbooter wont touch me on yahelite with auto resume off. Why? Because I know how it works and how to make it ineffective.

not exactly true, you could cause a never ending pm bomb which popped up thousands of boxes as long as your computer could handle it and you'd keep getting popup boxes as well the only reason why you stop getting popups on a fast computer would be that yahoo d/ced you you could then close all the popus but the fact is with 300 pm boxes open the programs become so lagged it's unable to do everything it needs to get more data from yahoo so yahoo throw the next lot of packets into the buffer.

So unless you can exploit the program by crashing it the only alternative option is to d/c it server side, as for auto resume, auto resume does not stop the booter it just silently reconnects back to yahoo yahelite gets booted each and everytime there's no argument there just it reconnects back to yahoo, hit it hard enough and it will not see text again.

You just said what I said. As long as your computer could handle it. If not, whats it do? Crashes. Not from data loss. From the computer's resources being so low. Its just like using Ymlite to send that room flood packet. When it sends an X amount of data, it crashes and closes from the resources being drained. Boots that cause resources to be drained have been around forever. How do you think booters have worked for so long? What's going to happen when that buffer charge exploit gets patched? Booters wont work anymore? How am I able to send one packet that crashes messenger and clients with less than 2 kb of data?

what might crash messenger in 2k might not crash something else, a chat client for example, so unless the exploit is specific to that client 2k of data means nothing you'd have to d/c with the buffer overflow exploit server side.

yeh using ymlite to flood works better if yah got like 4 gig of ram :P and using differant pakets helps as well

this buffer has been around since yahoo implemented YMSG i doubt they're going to increase it anytime soon (infact they did for about a week lol)

either way, all methods to me is correct.. as a yahoo client and messenger stress tester, i need that variety to choose from, for different situations, ..in the world of the anime Bleach.. this would be my Bankai, some choose Mass Iggy, some choose Voice Dominance.. i chose this study, as most chances success is less than perfect.. but i developed an understanding whether i succeed or not.. i know my chat experience is "Normal", my victim's is experiencing 'Abnormal' chat and they let us "Boters" know they gettin it, while rest of chat goes the norm of " I'm bored.." simply regular .."blah.." they are all typing like mad to show they still have text.., like a secretary on how lame you are, not know who is doing it most time.. but that a different story..heheh.. [ramblings of a confessed booter while high..]
