I have the original kindle and it has a battery life of about 1 and 1/2 months when wireless is turned off. I don't know of any other ereader that comes close to that.

Here are the 2 reasons why I purchased a Nook over a Kindle. 1)The Nook has a memory card slot (expandable up to 32gb) which the Kindle does not. and 2) Nook Glow!! Night time reading! I can read comfortably at night without bothering anyone.

I agree with a lot of people here. With converters like calibre it really doesn't matter what reader you buy, Its a matter of preference at this point

I always like suggesting a different option than a pure ereader. A tablet is always good for reading, a lot of times they have free apps for any books you may... acquire, but it also has an Amazon app to link with your Amazon account. Android has nook as well, I assume the iPad also does, but I don't actually own one so I can't confirm.

I bought the kindle fire. I liked the fact I can get the books from anywhere opposed to the nook. I love this device and amazon has treated me well. I had an issue with the kindle not taking a charge a few months ago. Amazon dealt with the issue promptly and had a replacement kindle to me within the week.

I have both kindle and sony reader and to be honest I def prefer kindle to the reader. But its just a personal preference..i like the way kindle feels and it's sleeker then the reader. Other than that no problems with the both of them.

A kindle is good, however the alternative is a tablet and just load the ebook apps. so its one device that reads multiple formats and from other stores.

I really love my kindle (the one with the keyboard on it). The converting really isn't a problem because of all the programs out there that do it so easily. I do love that it has no back light so I can read directly in the sun. The one con that I do have is that I have so many books on there, and if I accidently search for anything, the kindle will freeze up for a couple hours >.<
