His youngest daughter Grace (Juliana Palermo) has to face the reality of leaving the ancestral house on which she is deeply rooted, when she weds Conrad (Loren Novero). On the other hand, Lourdes, the married middle daughter, goes into an illicit affair, for which reason Mang Rudy succumbs to a heart attack. Jess (Cherry Pie Picache), the eldest daughter, is a lesbian whose bitter luck in life is being unwanted by her own father. But when the patriarch of the family suffers and becomes bedridden, Jess brings home her lover (Criselda Volks) to help look after the ailing father. In the end, each daughter finally discovers herself and learns that life is indeed volatile and ever changing... just like the seasons.
This slice of life drama has received raves during its screening at the 2006 Rome, Vienna, Hawaii, and Cairo International Film Festivals. Megged by Brillante Mendoza, Golden Leopard awardee at the 2005 Locarno International Film Festival in Switzerland for the film "Masahista".

Sometimes, you cannot choose whom to fall in love with. Love just happens. After an awkward yet memorable encounter at a stag party, Evo (Richard Gutierrez) and Grace (Marian Rivera) thought they would never see each other again. Little did they know that Grace is actually the girlfriend of Evo’s best friend, Mark (JC de Vera).

As the arrogant player that he is, Evo takes advantage of what happened at the party to make Grace agree to his demands. He forces Grace to pretend as his girlfriend to make Isabel (Ehra Madrigal), his ex-girlfriend jealous. But as the game of love ensues, Evo and Grace find themselves trapped in their own love spell.

Now, for a movie review. My Bestfriend’s Girlfriend is a must-see movie (well, if you can still catch it up on cinemas). It is a story of a spoiled rich man (Evo, Richard Gutierrez) who fell in love with his bestfriend ’s (Mark, JC de Venecia) girlfriend (Grace, Marian Rivera) who happens to be a member of society’s lower class. As much as I like to share about the movie, I prefer not to for the sake of others who are still to watch it.

Richard Gutierrez and Marian Rivera had a good chemistry in the movie. Some scenes made me laugh hilariously, promise. It is not like your typical love story that makes you cry.

Marian Rivera danced her signature Marimar dance several instances in the movie. Richard Gutierrez and Marian Rivera had crying scenes which made me laugh rather than sympathize. The movie ended up with everyone happy with their lives.

The filmography was at par to my expectations. The popular focus-effects were used superbly in the film.

Plot:
Sally Malasmas (Toni Gonzaga) applies for a US visa. There she meets the young and dashing vice-consul Will Derby (Sam Milby) with a wide, warm and inviting smile. Sally feels it's her lucky day! But Will thinks Sally does not have enough ties to the Philippines that will make her come back. He denies her visa, beams one last sweet smile at her and turns his back before she could protest. It isn't Sally's lucky day anymore. Sally Malasmas is a Care Officer at the National Statistics Office. She's smart and is a genuinely caring person who always has a hand to help other people. But despite her capabilities, Sally feels insecure of her older sister Charry whom she feels her parents always favored and always outperformed her. And in love, Sally tends to be needy and clingy. Her parents and only sister have all migrated to the United States to embrace the 'American Dream'. But for Sally, the Philippines is where she wants to be.
